George Boykin

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Boykin has dedicated his adult career to the treatment of children, adolescents and their families. For 22 years Mr. Boykin has enjoyed various positions in the mental health field. Early in his beginnings, he was privileged to be a substitute teacher, mentor, coach and a positive role model in rural South Carolina Schools.  Enjoying serving at-risk youth, Mr. Boykin worked as a Probation/Parole Officer for the SC Department of Juvenile Justice where he instituted prevention programming in the local schools, led community-based treatment services and served as a residential counselor during the summer for siblings of incarcerated youth.

Positions held include: -Co-Founded Lighthouse Care Centers, LLC -Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta -Board of Directors for the Group Home Association in Georgia -Group CEO over Lighthouse of Augusta and Lake Bridge Behavioral Health

Awards include: -Corporate Employee of the Year for his excellence in Customer Service and Service Delivery -Chairman’s Counsel Award for Outstanding Service

Through his career, Mr. Boykin has not lost his passion for caring for people with mental illness and substance abuse.  Mr. Boykin is a hands-on leader and prides himself on knowing his patients, staff, and their families.

Nakisha Johnson

Clinical Director


Nakisha Johnson is the Director of Clinical Services for Strategic Behavioral Center-Charlotte. Nakisha comes to Strategic-Charlotte with over 17 years Mental Health experience. Nakisha is multi-state licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. She’s also certified nationally as a Masters Addiction Counselor. Nakisha has a passion for helping others achieve their personal best, strives to bring sunshine wherever she goes and wants everyone to know “You are stronger than you think.”

Tamacia Bing, MHRM, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP

Director of Human Resources

Ms. Tamacia Bing, is the Director of Human Resources for Strategic Behavioral Health-Charlotte. Tamacia has over 12 years of human resource experience including roles such as Recruiter, HR Generalist, and HR Manager.

Prior to joining SBH–Charlotte, Tamacia worked as an HR manager for a Level 4 Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), fully accredited by the Joint Commission.  Tamacia is also the former HR Manager for the largest non-profit hospice in both North and South Carolina.

Tamacia has earned dual Master of Arts degrees in Human Resource Management and Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, Charlotte NC.  Tamacia is also certificated as a Professional in Human Resources.

Dr. Paul S. Brar, MD

Associate Medical Director

Dr. P Paul. S Brar, MD is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who after finishing training at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington DC and William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia, SC started his private practice in Charlotte, NC in 1993. He has experience working with all ages and has particular passion to work with children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and substance abuse difficulties. Dr Brar is a very caring, competent and knowledgeable physician whose eclectic training in treating his patients with close involvement of treatment team and families of patients has been well received by all.

Dr. Brar is a fellow of American Psychiatric Association and is well respected in the community and peers alike.





Laurie Mead

Director of Nursing

 Laurie Mead, Director of Nursing, is a seasoned registered nurse with over 22 years experience in direct patient care and mental health nursing. Over the years, Laurie had the opportunity to serve children and adults in a variety of settings, including her beginnings as a Combat Medic with the US Army. Laurie brings her proven military leadership skills and uses those skills to strengthen the nursing practice at Strategic Behavioral Health-Charlotte. As Director of Nursing, Laurie promotes camaraderie and team nursing to better serve our patient population, here in the North Carolina Region and beyond.






Mandy Lovelace

Mandy Lovelace-Gallo

Director of Quality Improvement, Compliance & Risk Management

Mandy joined SBC Charlotte in November of 2016 after spending 7 years working with adults and adolescents in a behavioral health acute care setting. Mandy has over 11 years of experience in healthcare, most of those in the Behavioral Health field. She earned a Bachelors degree in psychology from Gardner Webb University and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from University of Phoenix, while working as an MHT.

Mandy has a passion for ensuring that children receive the highest quality of psychiatric care available.
